$1 billion Edge-on-Hudson Sleepy Hollow development starts home construction, sales

Following two years of laying new infrastructure, developers of Edge-on-Hudson, the Sleepy Hollow site once home to General Motors, are finally able to start building homes.

The development team behind Edge-on-Hudson, the billion-dollar mixed-use redevelopment of the former GM site, announced Oct. 22 that home construction has started on 118 for-sale townhomes and condominiums on the property.

Sleepy Hollow, New York, the village known as the inspiration for Washington Irving’s famous Legend of Sleepy Hollow, is not quite so sleepy this fall as several milestones have been reached at Edge-on-Hudson, the transit-oriented, mixed-use development transforming a former General Motors site along the Hudson River.

Toll Brothers to construct houses on GM site

SLEEPY HOLLOW – Eight months have passed since local dignitaries gathered at the former General Motors assembly plant site to celebrate a mega residential development that‘s been two decades in the making.

Homes have yet to be built on the 70-acre property on the Hudson River, but the developers of the 1,177-unit community called Edge-on-Hudson had reason to be optimistic this week.
